WM3D expresses constraint forces and torques in the local coordinates of the Base Coord. To express measured constraint forces in the World coordinate system, the following formulas must be used in a customized meter:

    where:

    fx/W , fy/W , fz/W represents the X, Y, Z components of the constraint force expressed in World coordinates.

    fx/L , fy/L , fz/L represents the X, Y, Z components of the constraint force expressed in local coordinates of the Base Coord. This is how measured constraint forces are represented in WM3D.

    CRx , CRy , CRz represents cos(Rx), cos(Ry), cos(Rz)
    SRx , SRy , SRz represents sin(Rx), sin(Ry), sin(Rz)
    where Rx, Ry, Rz define the Base Coord orientation.

Similarly, to express measured constraint torques in the World coordinate system, use the following formulas:

    where:

    Tx/W , Ty/W , Tz/W represents the X, Y, Z components of the constraint torque expressed in World coordinates.

    Tx/L , Ty/L , Tz/L represents the X, Y, Z components of the constraint torque expressed in local coordinates of the Base Coord. This is how measured constraint torques are represented in WM3D.
